Our Customer Questions
What is kefir?
Kefir is a cultured, probiotic-rich milk drink — traditionally fermented with kefir grains. It's tangy, slightly effervescent, and bursting with beneficial microbes.
Is your kefir made from raw milk?
Yes. We use raw, grass-fed milk from a local farm, Hopewall. No pasteurisation, no ultra-processing — just slow fermentation, as it’s been done for centuries.
What are kefir grains?
Kefir grains are a symbiotic culture of bacteria and yeast (SCOBY). They naturally ferment the milk, producing a living beverage that supports gut, brain, and immune health.
Why is it fizzy?
Natural fermentation produces a light effervescence — a gentle fizz that tells you it’s alive. If shaken or left out, pressure can build slightly, so open with care!
How much should I drink?
Start with a small glass (250ml), especially if you’re new to fermented foods. It’s potent. Once accustomed, it can be enjoyed daily as part of your gut-health routine.
How long does it last?
Store in the fridge and consume within 3-5 once opened The flavour may sharpen slightly over time, but the probiotic benefits remain.
